“Its deep ruby colour and slow flow down the sides of the glass suggest a thick, dense wine. Fortunately, this wine is not too oily, it is as full-bodied as you would expect from a wine of this calibre. Very rich and remarkably variable on the nose from fruit to barrel-roasted notes to rich spiciness. Fresh plums, walnuts, marzipan and juniper follow in good succession. The sense of alcohol gives the wine an intense liqueur character. Acidity and tannins are well integrated into the structure of the wine. The tannicity is perhaps most noticeable only in the slight drying effect. Similar flavours on the palate but a strong dark chocolate line is the leading flavour note, well matched by the aromas listed above. All this is complemented by a barrel spice-smoky note in the background. And perhaps the slight chalky dustiness of the soil is also present on the finish. TECHNOLOGY

The bordeaux blend of an outstanding vintage with the domination of Cabernet Franc, complemented by Sauvignon and Merlot. Base wines were fermented and aged separately in first and second filling 5 hl oak barrels for 12 months. After blended part of the base wines into a 20 hl barrel and further aged 13 months. Final blend and fining in February, bottled in April. Total production: 60 bottles
