The appearance of this wine is already suggestive. Youthful, but rather ruby colour, depth and slow flow promise a full-bodied wine. The aromas start with a bottle bouquet followed by a slight leatheriness then the imprint of the variety, the barrel and the production site. Aromas of liquorice, black cherry, hibiscus, cloves, cocoa powder, with tuffaceous, chalky, chalky dust in the background. The alcohol and tannin are firm but integrated. Its acidity really comes through on the finish. The fruity and spicy flavours of the grape, the subtle smoky-parsnip notes of the oak and the minerality of the vineyard create an exciting harmony.
