The most noticeable traces of barrel ageing are spices, rum chestnut and chocolate notes. At the same time, there is a hint of violet florality and blueberry-blackberry fruitiness. It has a pleasant acidity, firm tannins that are still young, but well integrated into the character of a full-bodied, intense wine. The palate is rather dominated by ripe black cherry. Thick, almost bite-like, the wine is both taut and silky, its alcohol is warming both on the nose and on the palate. The finish is moderately long, delicately fruity, ending with a hint of chestnut character.
